Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative and talented Scientist to join our collaborative protein engineering team to drive discovery research. Our group encourages new ideas, and we are motivated by the science. We strive to utilize our protein knowledge to better understand and inform the biology. The ideal candidate will work closely with biologists to design, generate, characterize, and evaluate novel antibody-based biotherapeutics. The main responsibilities will be to use biochemical, biophysical and structural tools to mechanistically characterize targets and to develop novel therapeutic candidates.

  • Elucidate mechanistic understanding of therapeutic targets.

  • Progress large-molecule candidates through our pipeline.

  • Drive efforts to engineer antibodies, bispecifics, and antibody fusion proteins with novel properties.

  • Lead team members in protein design efforts for exploratory and late-stage drug discovery programs.

  • Independently perform complex experiments with strong attention to detail and documentation.

  • Interpret results and present program updates and data at meetings.

  • Accomplish goals under project team timelines.

  • Ph.D degree in Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Cell Biology, or related fields, with 0-3 years of relevant experience or a MS with 6 years relevant.

  • Fundamental understanding of proteins and structure-function relationships.

  • Expertise in construct design, and protein expression, purification (including AKTA systems), and characterization techniques (including analytical-SEC, SDS-PAGE, and MS).

  • Ability to design and execute in vitro assays to evaluate protein function.

  • Proficiency with techniques for protein-protein interaction analysis (BLI, SPR, ITC).

  • Preferred experience with cell culture and developing cell-based assays.

  • Preferred experience with display technologies (phage, yeast, etc.).

  • Excellent written and oral skills are necessary to communicate results to project teams.

Around the world, we are passionate about making an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases. Empowered to apply our individual talents and diverse perspectives in an inclusive culture, our shared values of passion, innovation, urgency, accountability, inclusion and integrity bring out the highest potential of each of our colleagues.
