The Impact You’ll Make

  • Collaborate with other subject matter experts in Legal, Finance, HR, Cybersecurity and other groups to efficiently manage the contracts process and assess risk, including development of automated/self-service approaches where appropriate
  • Conduct and streamline intake, drafting, review and negotiation of correspondence, memos and agreements/amendments with varying levels of complexity
  • Analyze contract provisions to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, and company policies and procedures and acceptable risk tolerance.
  • Agreement types include CDAs, consulting, MTAs, services, manufacturing, clinical trial, HR, collaboration, technology and independent contractor agreements, licenses, and other agreements for products and/or services
  • Establish best practices for contract metadata collection, and analyze existing contracts in light of this rubric
  • Develop and maintain library of templates and fallback documents used by legal and procurement colleagues
  • Track, prioritize and manage agreement requests
  • Implement procedures that enable best practices for execution, storage and retrieval of company documents
  • Participate in selection, configuration, implementation and management of a state-of-the-art contract lifecycle management system and maintenance of legal records
  • Perform contract audits as needed
  • Oversee the company’s use of DocuSign and policies re authorized signators and signature limits
  • Prepare and conduct trainings regarding legal concepts and company processes
  • Participate on internal committees to provide information and advice on contract-related issues
  • Create and maintain ad hoc reports and assist on special projects as needed

The Team You’ll Join

You will be joining a dynamic team of five (three attorneys, a stock plan manager, and a legal operations director), which will be continuing to grow in 2021-22 and beyond. You will have an important role in supporting the growth of our newly-public company and the strategic planning for contracts and records management across all departments.

The Skills and Attributes You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree from nationally accredited college or university
  • At least 10+ years’ experience in a contract management role in a biopharmaceutical company
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to negotiate and interpret the types of contracts listed above, communicating clearly with relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Attention to detail, with excellent communication, writing and project management abilities
  • Strong sense of ethics; integrity and good judgment
  • Accountable, dependable and self-motivated for continuous improvement of company templates, policies and processes
  • Able to interpret and apply GCP, EU, FDA and ICH regulations and guidelines
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems and contract audits
  • Logical problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Team player who can clearly communicate complex issues, observations and resolutions to stakeholders at all levels, with highly developed decision making and consensus building skills
  • Experience with early-stage companies, IP ownership and co-development is a plus
  • Paralegal certification is a plus
  • Advanced degree is a plus
