Finance Manager – US Patient Services
The US Patient Services organization is a key driver for the success of the commercial organization. The primary function of this position is developing timely, accurate and well supported LRP’s, Plans, LBE’s, monthly close / reporting, and coordinating the financials for key spending initiatives to serve our patients within US Market brands, in line with Franchises, Divisional and Corporate requirements.
This role will routinely interface with the US Patient Services VP, as well as the team of Directors/Sr Directors that make up the key business unit. The incumbent will also interact with the US Patient Services Commercial Management/Staff and Consolidations.
The position contributes to strategic initiatives, provides insightful consultation, and lends expertise to Franchise management to ensure operating and financial deliverables are achieved.
This role will be primarily focused on the Allergan portfolio across US Patient Services and will have full responsibility for SG&A and copay financial management/support, as applicable.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Financial Support to Commercial Staff:
Support Patient Services leaders and their teams with financial guidance and assist with the development of strategies in support of achieving business objectives (i.e. new product launches, co-pay forecasting & modeling, etc.). Additionally, proactively identify business issues and lead the development / presentation of ad hoc and recurring analyses that include appropriate / insightful variance analysis, identification of trends, issues, and opportunities, including the development of appropriate contingency plans, identifying key plus/(minus) issues, augmenting management’s understanding and drive for results.
LRP’s, Plans, LBE’s & Investment Allocations:
Responsible for coordinating timely, accurate and well supported LRP’s, Plans, and LBE’s for US Patient Services, in line with Franchise, Divisional and Corporate requirements. Ensure that strategic issues are appropriately highlighted and presented through the development of supporting analyses that creatively, concisely, and accurately reflect the commercial, marketing, and operational issues of the business unit. This role will also be responsible to develop and implement the Investment Allocation process for US Patient Services in partnership with various stakeholders.
Financial Accounting, Reporting & Analysis, and Internal Controls/Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance:
Ensure financial results for US Patient Services are recorded in compliance with AbbVie financial policies (CFMs) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Establish / enforce internal controls by providing guidance and counsel to operating and financial staff in the areas of Corporate Finance Manual (CFMs) polices, divisional internal control procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Support an environment of continuous process improvement to enhance controls. Promote ethics and compliance initiatives by ensuring timely completion of required training and cooperating with internal / external auditors as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or MBA a plus.
- Minimum 6+ years of progressive and related experience.
- Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with ability to operate independently, drive processes, identify and implement process improvements, establish, and adjust priorities to achieve objectives and operate with speed and agility.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), with all levels of management and including the ability to listen well and to influence others that do not report directly.
- Proficient Excel skills.
- Knowledge of SAP and TM1 a plus.
- Previous supervisory experience desired.
