Job Description

The GD strategic project Sr. Manager role will work on complex, interdisciplinary, global strategic projects for Global Distribution & Supply Chain Excellence (GD&E) teams. The candidate will apply the knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to ensure optimal execution of strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of Distribution, Warehousing and Logistics. Also, he/she ensures that the Global Distribution operations are correctly positioned in accordance to the Global Distribution strategy with the objective of achieving a desired service level at the lowest possible cost.

Major Accountabilities
  • Responsible for Global Distribution Strategic decisions, aiming for process and cost improvements of current Global Distribution network.

  • Lead/Co-lead new projects in Global Distribution area to ensure optimal use of resources, aiming for process and cost improvement of the GD network, such as Business cases for Geographical Footprint.

  • Develop a plan that addresses quality, objective, scope, cost, schedule resources and responsibilities to organize the project, and measure progress against schedule and budget

  • Develop, implement and or fast track process improvements by conducting internal and external benchmarking, challenging status quo and collaborating with Global and Regional functions.

  • Effectively communicate; manage strong relationships with stakeholders involved (expectations, communications, negotiations, critical issue, feedback, etc.)

  • Guide project champion and sponsor towards timely decisions that keep the project moving

  • Motivate, support and ensure a positive, collaborative work environment for the team members

  • Influence decision making through a fact-based approach to ensure business partners meet the financial and operational objectives

  • Maintain strong relationships with internal GD teams and external GSC stakeholders such as GNP, EPD, OSPR, Sites.

  • Maintain open lines of communications with other Global and Regional partners such as Finance, Regulatory, Accounting, Tax, QA, etc.

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Global Distribution & Supply Chain experience

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of Global Distribution & Supply Chain experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of Global Distribution & Supply Chain experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of Global Distribution & Supply Chain experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Global Distribution & Supply Chain experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Supply Chain or Business Administration

  • 5-8 years experience in International, Pharmaceutical or Supply Chain Environment or Consulting in the areas of Distribution, Warehousing and Logistics.

  • MS office and Project management Computer Skills

  • Fluency in English (both verbal and written)

  • Ability to develop insightful strategies based on knowledge, interpretation and analysis

  • Project management skills; ability to manage complex projects with ambitious breakthroughs in high pressure circumstances

  • Able to work autonomously y and drive projects and initiatives

  • Develop compelling business cases and proven ability to deliver results

  • Motivated, persistent, eager to optimize, drive for excellence

  • Outstanding communications skills with all levels of an organization (written and oral)

  • Strong negotiation skills.; ability to challenge management in relation to data and resources

Preferred Qualifications

A successful candidate will also have:

  • Mastery of tools, processes and procedures such as: ABC segmentation, negotiations, product management and supply, production planning, inventory control.

  • Good oral and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills; customer focus; negotiating skills; functional and technical skills; numerical/analytical skills

  • Strong people orientation, capable of developing, managing and influencing in a highly competitive, multinational group

  • Adapts and applies different/new concepts and approaches to local/regional supply chain management. Modifies standard approaches to increase effectiveness and improve outcomes.

  • Inspires and focuses SCM & Purchasing Team on potential improvements in the supply chain and purchasing processes and operations. Brings out trust and confidence in others, expresses positive expectations of others. Celebrates success, communicates achievements across part of the organization.

  • Leads cross-functional teams. Makes others feel valued and empowered to achieve goals. Takes advantage of what different people bring to the organization.
