Regeneron's Protein Biochemistry Group, in Tarrytown NY is seeking a biophysical chemist. In this role, you will provide in-depth biophysical and biochemical characterization of protein-based therapeutics and novel modalities to support programs in late stage research through IND.

A Typical Day In this Role in our Protein Biochemistry Group Might Look Like:
  • Conduct protein biophysical and biochemical experiments; analyzes data to elucidate quality attributes of gene therapy and protein-based candidates and/or products.
  • Provide biophysical support for both upstream and downstream functional groups; helps tackle problems in real-time.
  • Assist in efforts to characterize various modalities within specified timelines and works optimally in matrix-based team within protein biochemistry.
  • Document experiments, results and findings in electronic laboratory notebook; presents work at group and department meetings; contributes to drafting of analytical characterization reports, regulatory submission sections, and peer-reviewed articles for publication.

This Role Requires an MS in biophysical chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent with 2-4 years of industry experience in analytical characterization of proteins. Prior experience in or collaboration with the biopharmaceutical industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience in size-based methods (Asymmetric Flow-Field Flow Fractionation (AF4), Analytical Ultracentrifugation, SEC MALS, batch mode Static/Dynamic Light Scattering, and liquid chromatography) applied to proteins. Demonstrated ability to develop and troubleshoot analytical methods is a must. The successful candidate will help prepare slides for internal and external presentations, knowledge sharing with the possibility of peer-reviewed publications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required..
