We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic computational scientist to join the Protein Engineering group. The group uses computational and experimental techniques to develop and modify novel antibody-based biotherapeutics to drive specific responses in disease states, in close collaboration with other protein and immunology scientists. The candidate will use their expertise to create and implement machine learning models to generate and modify therapeutic-candidate molecules with optimized characteristics, for further testing and development.Specific Responsibilities:
Lead computational protein engineering efforts to create and optimize machine learning models for novel antibody-based biotherapeutic drug discovery.
Process datasets (experimental, sequence, and structural) and create frameworks for machine learning models for generating or modifying macromolecules with predicted characteristics.
Produce interpretable results that can be used for subsequent experimental design and testing.
Perform computational design and modeling to assess and create molecules with attention to biological function.
Evaluate new methodologies and their applicability to molecular design.
Interpret results and present to team members, under team timelines.
Contribute to patents and publications.
Ph.D. in structural biology, computational biology, computer science, or similar fields with 0-2 years of industry experience.
Programming experience in Python and/or R for data analytics and visualization.
Machine Learning / Deep Learning experience (Pytorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or similar) applied to biological problems.
Understanding of the sequence and structure of proteins and bioinformatics tools utilized in analyzing sets of related molecules.
Ability to creatively contribute to multidisciplinary biologics discovery teams.
