Job Details
A Day in the Role of R&D Associate Might Look Like:
- Lead and participates in formulation and stability assessment activities that may include candidate screening and selection, developing lyophilized or liquid formulations for all phases of pre-clinical, clinical and commercial development, and life cycle management.
- Establish a comprehensive physicochemical knowledge base of therapeutic drug candidates and utilizes it to identify critical quality attributes for formulation and drug product development, and to support various cross-functional processes.
- Develop fit-for-purpose analytical methods to support biophysical characterization, formulation and process development and research stability testing.
- Independently craft, execute and detail robust stability studies and other experiments to support stability testing therapeutic protein molecules.
- Utilize statistical science knowledge for study design and data analysis.
- Present work at group, department and cross functional meetings.
- Participate in research and technology innovation projects.

This role requires a M.S. or B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with 0-6 years of relevant industry working experience. A technical knowledge base and experience with protein/peptide chemistry, biophysical/biochemical characterization of proteins, bioanalytical method development and biomolecule product development is desirable. Experience with applying chromatographic (HPLC, UPLC, column chromatography), visible and subvisible particle analysis, capillary electrophoresis and/or biophysical techniques (UV-vis, DLS, CD, FTIR, DSC, AUC, Fluorescence, Raman spectroscopy) for protein characterization is desirable.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and enthusiasm in science with a motivation for making contributions in a team environment is necessary. Ability to quickly adapt to changes in project direction a plus.
