This position is responsible for supporting the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, support, and integration of systems for Commercial business areas of Santen in North America (NA). The business areas include Pharma CFU (Customer Facing Unit) teams in the US and Canada, including Eyevance. This position will serve as the main IT liaison for Santen IQVIA suite of commercial system landscape including Commercial Information Management (CIM) Platform, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This individual will partner with Santen NA Commercial business areas and members of DIT to analyze their operations, assist with business process optimization and to lead large-scale deployments of Commercial and related systems.

  • Partner with and track performance of internal and external service providers in operation of Commercial and related systems including establishing and monitoring service level agreements for operation of systems.
  • Act as the main facilitator to IT staff and end users on a variety of complex technical matters including application enhancements, integrations, upgrades, and reporting.
  • Manage large scale commercial IT system implementation initiatives in the North American Region.
  • Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders to enable Santen North America to achieve its goals and objectives through the effective use of commercial and related systems.
  • Assist in the development of global commercial applications standards and ensure compliance with the standards and procedures in the North American region.
  • Partner with business areas to understand their operations, define their requirements and propose IT solutions consisting of key Commercial IT projects.
  • Assist in IT strategic planning processes and collaboratively develop plans and roadmaps to address organizational needs and goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, track their performance and escalate issues as necessary .
  • Assist with the development and management of the Commercial Systems budget and provide input in the administration of related budgets.
  • Serve as a member of and active contributor to Santen global commercial systems team and as necessary actively participate in/ lead global commercial systems initiatives.
  • Partner with appropriate compliance team to ensure commercial systems operations are compliant with applicable regulations including Healthcare Transparency laws.

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experiences in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in designing/implementing/managing business applications including systems that support Sales & Marketing business areas.
  • Knowledge of Commercial business domain, preferably with experience in Pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge and experience in PMBOK based project management methodology (certification preferred) and track record in successfully delivered large scale projects.
  • Knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and managing CRM systems.
  • Foundational knowledge and experience in data warehouse, master data management and business intelligence tools are preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in application system development project, application development life cycle, testing methodology, and change management.
  • Knowledge and experience in operating in regulated environment.
  • Strong in logical thinking, time management, decision-making, and problem solving as able to manage multiple programs and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, presentation, documentation, facilitation, and communication skills and be capable to clearly articulate the viewpoint.
  • Experience in dealing with outsourced IT partners and offshore implementation companies.
