Primary Job Function

  • Provides timely and appropriate day-to-day compliance guidance to Marketing, Field Operations, Commercial Compliance, Financial Compliance, the Central Consultancy Group, the Business Services Group, and the salesforce, working collaboratively with other AbbVie OEC functions.
  • Supports exception and annual plan approval requests for AbbVie commercial business areas.
  • Serves as primary day-to-day Speaker Programs compliance contact.
  • Provides ad hoc monitoring support for salesforce-facing tools.
  • Partners with cross-functional stakeholders to identify, implement, and manage systems, processes, and applications to maintain or improve efficiency and effectiveness for areas of responsibility.
  • Reviews and provides guidance on commercial compliance training.
  • Serves as a resource and subject matter expert on various global policies and procedures.
  • Provides compliance support for and participates as a member of various AbbVie committees and councils within Commercial, Financial Compliance, Market Research, and Marketing.
  • Completes other special projects & responsibilities, as assigned. 
  • Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A high level of interpersonal skill is critical to the successful performance of this position. Candidates should have the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, present professionally, and work well with various levels within the organization.


Position Accountability

  • Reports to Director, Strategic & Executional Excellence, OEC Operations. 
  • Executes successfully on business goals and objectives and ensures alignment across stakeholders. 
  • Operates independently within well-defined expectations, checking in as necessary with supervisor(s).


Basic Requirements:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience required.
  • 6+ years’ experience with, or exposure to, business functions such as compliance, audit, legal, medical or regulatory affairs or finance.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous pharmaceutical experience preferred.
  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience required.  Advanced degree(s) preferred.        
  • Demonstrates strong leadership competencies and operates independently with autonomy and limited supervision.
  • Able to build and strengthen relationships with peers and cross-functional partners to enable higher performance.
  • Strong work ethic and proven track record of closing out initiatives successfully.
  • 5% travel
