Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for developing biochemical understanding for nucleotide-based vaccine technologies. The position holder will use biophysical approaches to analyze large molecule nucleotide-based vaccines to propose improved processes. The work will be performed in a collaborative environment with other Research functions and functions outside of Research.

Major Responsibilities:

Production and Biophysical characterization of RNA-based of vaccine

  • Develop mRNA production strategy to improve mRNA stability and production of GOI in vivo.
  • Improve mRNA purification strategy to improve mRNA purity by removing product-related contaminates.
  • Develop characterization strategy to analyze mRNA secondary and tertiary structure.
  • Develop characterization strategy to evaluate and improve mRNA package and release from delivery vehicle.

Documentation and presentation of scientific results

  • Write experimental protocols and prepare internal reports. Maintain lab notebooks.
  • Interact with cross-functional project teams and stakeholders, present research results and contribute to technical advancements and publications.
  • Interact with external collaborators.

Lab management

  • Maintain functional laboratory equipment and follow HSE regulation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in Biochemistry or related biological sciences.
  • PhD with 1-5 years postdoc academic or pharmaceutical/biotech experience in mRNA biochemistry.
  • Strong experience with biochemical/biophysical characterization with large mRNA molecules is required.
  • Creative and the ability to generate accurate and reproducible results along with multi-tasking and working effectively in a fast-paced environment are critical.
  • Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills and ability to work in teams is essential.
