The Director of Market Access, Marketing position is responsible for leading a team responsible for the market access marketing strategy for Imbruvica, a Brutons Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitor (BTKi). Imbruvica is indicated for use in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), Marginal Zone Lymphoma (MZL), Waldenstroms Macroglobulinemia (WM), and chronic Graft vs. Host Disease (cGVHD).

The Director of Market Access Marketing will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies and tactics for current and any future indications across all Market Access channels to include:  Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Federal payers as well as GPO’s, IDN’s and Distribution.   This role is also a key contributor to the overall Brand Strategy.  The Director will leverage data, analytics and a strong strategic / collaborative mind-set in all aspects of leading the team to success as well as provide positive leadership and influence with internal stakeholders and our collaboration partners in alignment with our Cultural Vision.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and direction for Market Access Marketing vision, strategies, tactics, execution plans and resource investment.  Encompass an “All for One” mindset and perspective at all times.
  • Lead the annual Market Access Strategic and Budget Planning processes
  • Act as the Market Access Lead for the annual Brand Planning process and as part of the Integrated Brand Teams
  • Drive the development and execution of clinical and economic messaging and materials for all market access customer segments. Lead the training of the various field teams on these messages. 
  • Work closely with the Brand Marketing and Field Sales teams to leverage educational opportunities available through market access segments such as GPO’s.
  • Set tone and priorities for scale and scope of accountability. Influence and persuade across multiple external and internal stakeholders and collaboration partners.
  • Infuse AbbVie Ways of Working and Talent Philosophy in day-to-day leadership and overall management of the team and the business.
  • Use coaching effectively and efficiently to develop direct reports and influence cross-functional partners.
  • Determine appropriate action, execution, tracking and monitoring of projects by employing scenario planning, segmentation, positioning, innovation, creative development, investment optimization as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree required.

  • Proven marketing leadership experience required.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical experience with cross-functional experiences including field sales, market access, finance, market analytics, brand marketing are all valued.
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of the Market access landscape
  • Prior Market Access Marketing
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Experience in the oncology space (hematology)  
  • Experience with leading in a collaboration
  • Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Primary) or Lake County, IL
  • Travel 10 % of the time
