JOB SUMMARY: The Facilities Engineer is a technical role supporting the manufacturing facility located in Branchburg, NJ. The role requires the ability to interact cross-functionally with other departments and customers, while also working independently on projects and initiatives. This position will analyze data and identify trends and key metrics for reporting to management. Additionally, this role will develop project scopes with requirements identified and gather cost estimates. Working knowledge on clean room classifications and various equipment types will benefit this role. This position will also require use of AutoCAD to update and develop site drawings in support of projects. The Facilities Engineer will create/revise procedures and support safety and energy initiatives. Understanding of Quality Management Systems for Quality Investigations and associated CAPAs is required.
The role shall be based out of the Branchburg facility and will focus primarily on the New Jersey facilities in Branchburg with some support required at the Bridgewater facility.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Describe scope: % of Time or Importance
Maintains equipment reliability metrics for manufacturing and facilities equipment identifying key metrics for equipment uptime and identifying trends. Identifies and implements projects to improve equipment reliability and uptime
Estimates cost of projects, writes contracts and specifications for labor, materials and equipment for construction projects, and secures bids from contractors
Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design and bidding
Examines and reviews engineering and architectural drawings and design computations for buildings and facilities to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices and codes; incorporates functional requirements into facility requirements
Develops and updates facilities drawings using AutoCAD
Inspects existing facilities and prepares reports on the condition, deficiencies observed, designs necessary for repairs, and estimated cost of repairs
Implement safety and energy initiatives at the site as they relate to the facility and equipment
Support the safety observation program by implementing solutions to actions identified
Technical support for Manufacturing Engineering project teams while assisting in equipment improvements, safety, and productivity.
Work with our quality partners to address department’s Quality Investigations and CAPAs.
Create/revise departmental procedures as required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in an appropriate technical and or facilities management subject required. Mechanical or Chemical Engineer preferred.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with clean rooms is a plus
Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials)
- Must possess the ability to estimate, calculate, and use financial and statistical tools to analyze and present data
- Ability to implement LEAN principles to increase efficiency
- Must be proficient with all MS Office applications, including “Project”. Ability to draw/modify AutoCAD files required.
- Familiar with GDP
