Who is Omeros?

Omeros is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications targeting inflammation, complement-mediated diseases, disorders of the central nervous system and immune-related diseases, including cancers. In addition to its commercial product OMIDRIA (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1%/0.3%, Omeros has multiple phase 3 and phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on complement-mediated disorders and substance abuse. Omeros also has a diverse group of preclinical programs including GPR174, a novel target in immuno-oncology that modulates a new cancer immunity axis recently discovered by Omeros. Small-molecule inhibitors of GPR174 are part of Omeros' proprietary G proteincoupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and their corresponding compounds. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform.

What are your job responsibilities?

  • Negotiates and drafts a wide variety of contracts related to the Company's research, development and commercial activities, including clinical trial agreements, sponsored research agreements, preclinical research and service agreements, nonclinical service agreements, manufacturing and supply agreements, collaboration agreements, material transfer agreements, consulting agreements, and distributor agreements
  • Oversees and manages contract operations; designs and operates processes to ensure efficient and effective delivery of contracting services to the business
  • Supervises attorneys and staff within the legal department's contracts group
  • Collaborates with legal and business colleagues to integrate compliance processes (healthcare law, anti-bribery and corruption, data privacy, etc.) with contract operations
  • Conducts legal research, obtains advice of outside counsel and provides legal advice related to federal and state laws pertaining to life science companies
  • Advises on matters of Washington state law in diverse areas
  • Provides other general legal advice
Education, Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

  • Juris doctorate (JD Degree)
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant legal experience drawn from a combination of law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Admitted to practice law in at least one state required, with admission in Washington State preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required
  • Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail required
