JOB PURPOSE

The Director, Employee Growth is a newly developed position responsible to support Sana's quest to be the best place to grow and develop one's career within the biotech industry.

In this role, you will create strategies and tools to fulfill the company's goal of ‘a growth plan for every employee' that aligns to their respective career goals and interests. Additionally, this role will be responsible for executing Sana's talent management programs to include onboarding, check-ins and talent reviews, the promotion process, various internal transfer programs and succession planning. Finally, you will be responsible for creating and implementing development programs, identifying the most effective training methods and administering training for all levels. Ultimately, in everything you create, you will focus on making Sana the place for talented people to bring their authentic selves to work, to have a great career and to deeply, positively impact patients. To do this, you will need to imbed Sana's three core values- Lead from Every Seat, Thrive as a Team and Make it Happen, as well as our Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) strategy, which is a critical pillar of Sana culture, into all aspects of our learning programs.

This is a great opportunity for a seasoned HR business partner who has worked at high growth, progressive companies to take on a specialized learning role, currently reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO). The best applicants will be exceedingly creative, resourceful, full of great ideas and on top of the latest market trends to produce cutting edge ways for employees to learn and grow while at Sana. Additionally, the most talented applicants will understand the strategic importance of providing talented employees with bespoke employee growth plans and learning pathways as a key retention, culture and business driver to the company's success.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and lead the employee growth discipline. Design and execute the employee development program from strategy to methods, tools, and metrics in collaboration with the People Leaders. Successfully deliver on the lofty company promise that all employees have individualized growth plans catered towards specific career goals and interests. ‘A Growth Plan for Every Employee'.
  • Continually evolve and execute Sana's check-in process with the goal of providing employees with continual and actionable performance feedback through the use of effective tools and educating employees how to deliver and receive feedback on a regular basis. ‘Develop Feedback Blackbelts' and Crucial Conversation Champions.
  • Manage and continually evolve Sana's promotion process and tools with the goal of providing transparent information and a clear career development path to employees and managers and educate employees about promotions at Sana; Work closely with the Head of Total Rewards to link employee all talent management programs with compensation programs. ‘Pay for Performance'
  • Manage and continually evolve the internal transfer process and interim assignment programs with the goal of providing employees with opportunities to learn new skills that contribute to their career goals and interests.
  • Work closely with the CPO and the Head of Talent Acquisition to continually evolve the talent review and succession plan processes to ensure that the company has deep talent bench strength to scale and meet its vision.
  • Create development programs and other learning plans that are aligned to the company's growth objectives and organizational requirements, key leadership behaviors, IDE strategy, core values and also consider the results from Sana Says, the annual culture survey. Identify the delivery method (in-person, e-learning, etc), leveraging Sana monthly Learning Days, and execute an annual training delivery plan.
  • Manage a full-time Onboarding Specialist who will provide new hires with the highest quality learning experience within their first 100 days at Sana and oversee the automation of all pre-first day communication and educational materials to new hires.
  • Work with the head of Systems and Infrastructure to automate key talent management programs enabling ease of access and usability for all employees; determine and implement a Learning Management System (LMS) strategy.
  • Develop key success and performance metrics for all programs and work with Head of Systems and Infrastructure to incorporate into the monthly People Metrics Scorecard.
  • Collaborate with People Partners and other leaders to implement short term learning and development plans that support achievement of functional and operating goals.
  • Manage and evolve ‘Lead and Thrive' and ‘Manager Essentials' content on Sana Connect, the company's intranet, ultimately building a repository for employee growth and development information and educational materials.
  • Demonstrate Sana's core values and the attributes that support these core values (Lead from every seat, Thrive as a team, Make it happen)

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8-10+ years of experience as an HR business partner who has delivered progressive talent management and training programs, and/or experience as a training and development specialist, at high growth, innovative, learning companies with strong supportive employee-focused cultures;
  • Demonstrated passion for helping people learn and grow to be their best selves in a fast-paced environment;
  • Deep experience delivering progressive talent management programs and either directly responsible for the design, or contributed to the design, of such programs;
  • Strong, proactive, strategic thinker; demonstrated ability and experience to translate business needs into stage-appropriate content and solutions;
  • Actively seeks opportunities to enhance the employee experience and proposes appropriate content and solutions;
  • A creative, innovative thinker and problem solver who possesses informed opinions about high performance and learning cultures and results, employee development and talent management programs;
  • Possesses strong knowledge of novel learning programs, technologies and vendors that get results;
  • Possesses high standards... knows what ‘great' looks like;
  • Experience in running needs assessment processes within the business for learning programs;
  • Proven ability to achieve goals and execute plans in a timely manner; handles multiple projects and priorities in order to meet required deadlines;
  • A simplifier; ability to wade through complexity and identify simple solutions to business challenges;
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Highly detailed oriented;
  • Strong team player; ability to work with others to achieve goals;
  • Working safely in person on a predictable and regular in-person basis is an essential job function for this position and the Company requires that all individuals working in-person, subject to certain exceptions, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
