Associate Scientist, Drug Product Design

Just is seeking a motivated and creative researcher who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. This position is a hands-on, laboratory based role supporting all stages of formulation development from early stage formulation verification to late stage, commercial formulation design of antibodies, Fc-conjugates and other novel protein based molecules. The successful candidate will have experience working in an analytical laboratory setting and be familiar with chromatographic, electrophoretic, and spectroscopic techniques. Experience with high throughput, robotic techniques, statistical design of experiments, and data modeling is a plus. The candidate must possess a strong ability to work in a team while supporting multiple projects. Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary. The ideal candidate is efficient, curious, creative, enthusiastic, works well independently and in teams, and looks for ways to improve processes and technology.

Responsibilities:

• Run routine analytical tests such as size exclusion chromatography, sub-visible particle analysis, viscosity, pH, and protein concentration
• Work with team members to support formulation stability studies
• Testing of protein formulations and characterization of degradation products
• Presentation of data and results at group and department meetings

Education Requirements:

• BS in biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics, chemical engineering, or related fields with 0-3 years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with HPLC, UPLC, capillary electrophoresis systems, spectroscopy, and rheology
• Experience with high throughput assay implementation
• Experience designing and implementing experimental protocols and statistical analysis
• Experience with aseptic technique
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
