What you will do

In this vital role you will a member of the Value & Access Strategy Team, the Senior Marketing Manager, Tezepelumab Launch, reports to the Director, Tezepelumab Launch. This role is the payer lead. In collaboration with the tezepelumab brand team and AstraZeneca counterparts, this role supports development of and executes payer strategy for the Market Access and sales teams to ensure optimal launch payer coverage and patient access to tezepelumab.

This position is a good avenue to many future commercial healthcare roles. Amgen has strong training, education, and mentoring programs to ensure staff are successful.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support development and execution of tezepelumab launch strategy (strategy developed with launch Director, AstraZeneca and brand team), using quantitative modeling

  • Development of the latest estimate discount rate model and process for tezepelumab

  • Development and execution of value-based contracts in collaboration with Global Health Economics, Legal, and Strategic Pricing & Contracting teams

  • Coordinate with Trade Operations to evaluate and run specialty pharmacy fee-for-service data and reporting opportunities, as appropriate

  • Lead planning and logistics for launch lead-sponsored workshops (e.g., value-based initiatives ideation, payer strategic plan)

  • Track Market Access launch coverage/POA goals and support dashboard activities

  • Point of contact for Market Access team and tezepelumab sales force, including communication of payer coverage to the sales force and pull-through at launch

  • Collaborate with Patient Access team, Launch Lead and brand team to develop/launch patient support programs and manage adjustments in real-time as the payer environment evolves

  • Support value marketing function to bring value strategy, messaging, tools for Market Access and data generation plan in alignment with brand strategy

  • Conduct periodic tezepelumab (V&A) launch team meetings (usually monthly) to communicate strategy and to drive alignment and execution

  • Collaborate with Value Marketing to develop payer clinical messaging, pharmacoeconomic messaging and population health and employer-specific tools for Market Access, as appropriate

  • Collaborate with Value Marketing and training to develop Market Access semester plan of action, semester meeting content/training and reimbursement goals

  • Collaborate with tezepelumab brand and sales teams to develop semester meeting content related to payer strategy and environment

  • Assist with planning and quarterly business reviews and long-range scenario planning

  • For sales teams and Market Access team, triage payer-related questions and issues and ensure that items are quickly addressed

  • For sales force and Market Access new hires, provides tezepelumab-related training as appropriate

  • Lead tezepelumab payer-related budget management

  • 5-10% travel may be required

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Masters degree and 4 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Bachelors degree and 6 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

Associates Degree and 10 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong eye for business, analytical skills, and critical thinking ability

  • Understanding of US health care system and key partners (with an interest in formulary decision makers carrying out responsibilities for the selection of medications for coverage or reimbursement)

  • Marketing or sales experience, specifically in immunology (asthma focus a plus)

  • Payer or value marketing experience, especially in highly competitive market environments

  • Payer account management experience

  • Access marketing experience

  • MBA or other masters degree

  • Results oriented

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

  • Outstanding presentation skills

  • Project management skills and cross-functional leadership

  • Vendor/agency management skills

  • Ability to work through others and lead in a matrix environment

  • Ability to handle and achieve results with multiple competing priorities
