  • Assist in the preparation, review and filing of the income tax returns, including preparing tax packages and identifying transactions that have tax ramifications.
  • Must have the ability to research complex tax issues, and be proficient in interpreting and applying the tax law, regulations, and cases to specific transactions and factual situations.
  • Maintains the tax calendar to inventory al tax filings and due dates, and minimize interest and penalties as a result of filings.
  • Prepare and review assigned portions of compliance work as directed by Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager.
  • Prepare the tax provision, analysis of tax accounts and reserves, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This includes a working knowledge of FAS 109 tax accounting and other necessary FASB pronouncements, as well as internal control issues.
  • Calculate and review estimated payments and extension filings as directed by Tax Manager/Senior Tax Manager.
  • Assist with responding to IRS/State audit information requests in behalf of AbbVie.
  • May coach and mentor more junior analyst. Leads and trains staff members on new and existing tax processes and value creation projects.

Qualifications
  • B.A./B.S. in Accounting/Finance required.
  • 3+ Years related experience beyond the degree or Masters plus related experience.
  • Preferred:Public Accounting or Fortune 500 Corporate Tax experience preferredCPA and/or MST a plus, but not required
