Why Join Intellia?

Our mission is to develop curative genome editing treatments that can positively transform the lives of people living with severe and life-threatening diseases.

Beyond our science, we live our four core values: One, Explore, Disrupt, Deliver and feel strongly that you can achieve more at Intellia. We have a single-minded determination to excel and succeed together. We believe in the power of curiosity and pushing boundaries. We welcome challenging thoughts and imagination to develop innovative solutions. And we know that patients are counting on us to make the promise a reality, so we must maintain high standards and get it done.

We want all of our people to go beyond what is possible. We aren't constrained by typical end rails, and we aren't out to just treat people. We're all in this for something more. We're driven to cure and motivated for change. Just imagine the possibilities of what we can do together.

How you will Achieve More with Intellia:

As a Scientist, you will join our AAV process development team within the Technical Operations group, and embrace the opportunity to transform amazing sciences and technologies to powerful cures. You will be responsible for evaluating new process technologies for AAV process development including but not limited to novel Rep/Cap and Helper plasmids, production media and cell lines, fed-batch and perfusion process strategies, alternative chromatography media and methods, or TFF modes. Main responsibilities also include:
  • Design and conduct experiments to drive technology evaluation for implementation in upstream or downstream process development.
  • Perform analytical assays to support technology evaluation and process development.
  • Provide SME support in technology transfers to internal PD and Scale up groups and external strategic partners.
  • Provide high quality data and ELN documentation, communicate development findings with internal and external teams/partners to drive decision making in the CMC team.

About you:

Are you interested in this amazing virus called AAV? Are you a skilled plasmid or cell line engineer, an experienced bioreactor or chromatography or filtration expert? If you say yes, we encourage you to apply! Other qualification and desired skills include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Virology, Chemical Engineering or related area with 8-10 years of hands on industrial experience, or master's degree with 6-8 years, or PhD with 0-2 years.
  • Proficiency with analytical assays including ddPCR/qPCR and ELISA is required.
  • Experience with either upstream or downstream process development for viral vectors is a plus.
  • Experience with other analytical assays including HPLC, AUC, DLS, CE-SDS or cell-based transduction assay is a plus.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and a self-starter who continuously seeks innovative solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, teamwork and strong problem solving skills.

Meet your future team:

The AAV Process Development team is a group of bright, fun and motivated individuals. Teamwork is our biggest strength. This group is responsible for developing robust and scalable AAV manufacturing processes, supplying large scale AAV materials for pre-clinical development, and process tech transfer to CMOs for further clinical development. We support Intellia's clinical programs as well as in vivo and ex vivo emerging pipelines. While much of the day-to-day operations require wet-lab work, our team focus on not only building everyone's technical expertise but also fostering an environment for career growth as scientists and engineers in biopharmaceutical industry.

You will report to the Principal Scientist, AAV Process Development. She oversees both upstream and downstream process development functions. She loves to see people grow and develop, and look forward to learning from your experiences and building the team together with you.
