Our small-size proteins, such as Cas14 and CasPhi, are poised to transform disease treatment enabling novel editing approaches and delivery options that are difficult to achieve or not even possible with previously described CRISPR-Cas systems. Our teams are responsible for discovering and engineering novel CRISPR systems, establishing CRISPR-based diagnostics, and translating our unique CRISPR technology into therapeutic treatments with the ultimate goal of cures for indications with high medical need.


Mammoth Biosciences is seeking an experienced individual to join as our first full-time Director, Alliance Management to support Mammoth's key strategic partnerships towards CRISPR editing for therapeutics. For our existing and future partners, the Director will develop and manage governance models, support the partnership programs and lead and manage the relationship building process. The ideal candidate recognizes challenges before they become issues and works out mitigations or if needed, solutions, together with the leadership team and both partners. Partners include top pharma companies, innovative biotech companies, and academic institutions. This person will play a pivotal role in translating Mammoth's differentiated platform into assets that will improve people's lives. This key position will report directly to the Chief Business Officer.

    • Lead as the primary point of contact between our collaboration partners and Mammoth
    • Manage the portfolio of Mammoth's current and future collaborations, overseeing and
    • managing joint governance activities and ensuring successful collaboration, initiation, and execution
    • Manage projects covered under the collaboration
    • Represent Mammoth's best interests in the alliance by building trust-based relationships with partners
    • Identify challenges with partnerships before they become issues and manage mitigation and solution finding
    • Be accountable for reporting and milestone obligations, contract renegotiations, and contract amendments to partners and Mammoth leadership as appropriate
    • Lead Joint Steering Committees, prepare presentations, communicate outcome and follow-up on action points
    • Lead external project budgeting and scope management
    • Partner with Mammoth's R&D groups, Business Development, Legal/IP, and Finance to ensure alignment with alliance goals

    • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field
    • 2 years of Alliance Management experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry required
    • 3 years of Business Development and/or Project Management experience
    • Experience in assessing issues/risks and effectively implement remediation measures
    • Track record of presenting and communicating difficult scientific topics
    • Experience with critical and successful negotiations
    • Familiarity with presentation and project planning tools
    • Experience running a Joint Steering Committee and/or Joint Research Committee
    • Knowledge and interpretation skills of contractual language
    • Must be willing and able to travel up to 15% of the time

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive project teams without direct supervisory authority
    • Comfort working with senior management, internally and externally
    • Experience in gene and cell therapy or genome editing is a great plus
    • Advanced degree in life sciences
    • Experience in Project Management for projects through IND
    • Experience in Alliance Management with large pharma company
    • Experience in constructively voicing opinions on sensitive issues to senior management
