Position Summary:

The Senior Market Research Manager will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, direction, decision-making, and execution of all marketing research initiatives in support of the brand commercialization strategy. This role encompasses all phases of research along the brand's lifecycle continuum, including product development, launch preparation, brand tracking, segmentation and positioning, brand equity and life cycle management activities. Additionally, the selected candidate will provide occasional support to other brands if/when necessary and will be called on to lead non-branded research efforts and business development research when needed.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides thought leadership and subject matter expertise in market research to Lundbeck.
  • Works closely with Marketing and Sales leadership to proactively lead the development of market research plans/projects that are aligned with business goals and strategies
  • Effectively communicates key research insights to multiple audiences throughout the company.
  • Leads the entire market research process, including research design, sampling strategy, data collection, data analysis plan, providing key learnings and making recommendations aligned to business objectives.
  • Ensure continuous alignment and strategic partnership with Marketing, Sales and Executive Leadership.
  • Participates in strategic brand planning process each year. Develops and executes market research plans and budgets in support of brand strategy and tactics. Provides feedback during the planning process on appropriate market research projects in alignment of brand strategy.
  • Provides appropriate research insights on projects such as landscape, forecasting, segmentation, positioning, and message testing necessary to support business cases for life cycle management and/or business development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with peers in the Business Insights group to bring primary research findings and secondary data analytics together.
  • Provides high level of research-based guidance for Marketing, Sales, Clinical, Forecasting, and Business Development.
  • Manages research vendors, including but not limited to RFP solicitation, relationship maintenance and budget activities.
  • Thrives both as an individual contributor as well as a collaborative partner.


Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Accredited Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years market research experience, both qualitative and quantitative
  • Pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech experience
  • Experience managing strategic framework and creating actionable insights
  • Demonstrated relationship development with the ability to work effectively both independently or within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and build consensus
  • Experience managing projects from beginning to completion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, namely Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
  • Advanced degree, including MBA, MS, or Pharmacy degree
  • Brand marketing, or other commercial leadership experience
  • Previous product launch experience
  • CNS research experience within the assigned therapeutic area
  • Knowledge of secondary data sources


Travel
  • Willingness & ability to travel up to 20% domestically. International travel may be required.
