Our small-size proteins, such as Cas14 and CasPhi, are poised to transform disease treatment enabling novel editing approaches and delivery options that are difficult to achieve or not even possible with previously described CRISPR-Cas systems. Our teams are responsible for discovering and engineering novel CRISPR systems, establishing CRISPR-based diagnostics, and translating our unique CRISPR technology into therapeutic treatments with the ultimate goal of cures for indications with high medical need.


Mammoth is seeking an Associate Director of CRISPR Delivery Research that will be responsible for leading Mammoth's research on viral and non-viral delivery of our proprietary CRISPR nucleases. The role will involve managing the team responsible for sourcing and evaluating new gene editing delivery techniques. The successful candidate will work closely with Mammoth's CBO and CSO to advance partnerships in the delivery space. Previous experience managing external research collaborations is a plus.

    • Set research goals and priorities for the delivery team
    • Coordinate with external research collaborators (academic and other companies)
    • Landscape analysis of gene editing delivery techniques
    • Keep up to date with scientific literature to identify and evaluate new gene editing delivery methods
    • Lead the delivery research team (initial size 3-5 people)
    • Project budgeting and scope management
    • Evaluate viral and non-viral delivery methods with Mammoths CRISPR nuclease (including Cas14 and CasPhi)
    • Plan and coordinate the creation of new delivery methods

    • PhD in relevant field
    • Minimum of 6 years industry experience working with viral and/or nonviral delivery methods
    • Minimum of 3 years experience managing teams (>3 people)

    • Experience sourcing reagents for LNP and AAV delivery including quality control
    • Understanding of and ability to keep up with emerging gene editing and delivery techniques
    • Ability to motivate and lead teams of varying levels of experience
    • Experience preparing budget proposals for developments and manages expenditures within the departmental budget
    • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders up to the executive level
    • Previous experience managing external research collaborations
