Encodia is a rapidly growing platform company that is developing a new generation of protein analysis tools based on single-molecule protein sequencing. Our goal is to make protein sequencing easy and ubiquitous by using a novel reverse-translation technology that turns peptide sequences into DNA. The DNA can be read by a DNA sequencer, providing a path to breakthrough proteomics research at a scale that is not practical or cost-effective using current technologies.
We are seeking to recruit a bioinformatics scientist with experience in developing algorithms, creating machine learning models, and analyzing complex data to help us develop algorithms to enable analysis of novel forms of proteomics data.

-Designing, implementing, and maintaining algorithms and tools for the analysis of novel kinds of proteomics data.
-Building machine learning models of complex biological systems.
-Developing and managing analysis pipelines in production environments.
-Collaborating across functions to identify and address analytical needs.
-PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
-Experience analyzing large scale data, and familiarity with statistical analysis and machine learning.
-Familiarity with genomic (DNA/RNA sequencing) data analysis.
-Self-motivated with the ability to work with and support multiple groups across the organization.
-Programming experience in Python as well as some strongly typed language (e.g., C/C++/Java).
-Experience with command line Linux environments.
-Experience using and configuring cloud-based computing environments (e.g., AWS/Azure).
-Knowledge of git or other version control systems.
