The purpose of this position is to actively participate in the formulation development, process development and scale-up of pipeline product candidates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.
Hands on work to set-up and run experiments on bench scale equipment in a laboratory setting.
Trouble-shoot problems that come up during process development.
Aid in the design of new equipment and materials needed for development.
Perform analytical work to analyze samples from process development runs for characterization of the process.
Maintain all data and information in laboratory notebooks.
Compile, analyze, organize and present data to the teach.
Use design of experiments to identify key process parameters that are critical for the tech transfer and scale up of the process at the clinical manufacturing scale
Education and Experience:
BS in Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
Preferably 2-5 years of pharmaceutical and/or R&D experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with a high degree of self-motivation.
Experience in analytical techniques for evaluation of process samples.
Hands on lab, pilot plant, or commercial production experience.
Knowledge of process equipment and chemistry is required.
Ability to work both independently and in cross functional teams.
Demonstrated computer efficiency (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets).
Strong observation skills and problem-solving ability.
Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
