Company Overview

Orum Therapeutics is a global biotech pioneering the precise delivery of targeted protein degraders and other next generation ADC payloads to improve the treatment of cancer. The company’s neoDegraders are novel, proprietary payloads for targeted protein degradation and its Antibody neoDegrader Conjugate (AnDC) platform generates first-in-class antibody drug conjugates. The first therapeutic candidates from the AnDC platform are in development for the treatment of solid tumors and hematologic cancers. Orum announced the close of a $84 million Series B financing. The first two oncology assets are expecting IND filing in mid - 2022 and Q1 2023. Orum is located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S., and Daejeon, South Korea. The Role

Orum Therapeutics is seeking to expand our in-house protein chemistry and bioconjugation capabilities to help advance quality compounds toward the clinic. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry or biochemistry and a passion for driving high-impact projects in the anti-cancer drug discovery space. He/she will conduct bench-based research focused on synthesizing and characterizing new chemical entities for testing as potential therapeutics.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesize bioconjugates using established (e,g, lysine, endogenous cysteine, site-specific) chemistries and contribute to the development of new methodologies

  • Purify bioconjugates by different modes (e.g. SEC, affinity, UF/DF) using benchtop and automated (e.g. AKTA FPLC) methods

  • Characterize bioconjugates using multiple techniques (e.g. UV/Vis, HPLC, and MS)

  • Present written and oral reports to multidisciplinary teams

  • Contribute to the build-out and upkeep of an expanding laboratory through maintaining shared equipment, assisting with general laboratory housekeeping, and developing processes for improving workflow efficiency

Requirements and Qualifications

  • BS/MS in organic chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field with at least 1-2 years research experience in a laboratory setting

  • Hands-on experience with chemical modification, purification, and characterization of proteins required

  • Previous hands-on experience with antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates is a plus

  • Enthusiasm for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of chemists, protein engineers, and biologists

  • Proficiency with operating common laboratory equipment and maintaining laboratory infrastructure
