The Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Operations will own the development and operational achievement of site-specific EHS policies, procedures and compliance. This is a player / mentor role that will require a high level of tactical response and efficiency as well as managerial & leadership capability. You will seek highly sophisticated EHS problems and work across a diverse scope of evolving programs which require critical thinking and analysis of situations within a highly regulated industry. We are looking for a progressive leader who can foster our EHS programs through professionalism, judgment and collaboration.

A typical day might include the following:
• Lead and develop EH&S programs, primarily associated with site operations, construction, logistics, fleet, and abatement activities
• Advise the EH&S Department regarding tasks, projects and operations
• Prioritizes and assigns EH&S tasks; ensures tasks are completed and team and project goals and objectives are met
• Provides 24/7 emergency response support during asbestos disturbances, abatement activities, medical emergencies, evacuations, hazmat spills, etc.
• Develop safety standards by collaborating with property manager and provides communication, awareness and support
• Implement electrical safety program, including the oversight of all live electrical work from a safety perspective.
• Responsible for DOT/IATA program management and developing and implementing an incident reduction strategy alongside the Fleet Safety Committee

This role might be for you if:
• Work independently and under the direction of the EH&S Senior Director to implement various environmental health and safety programs and initiatives
• Able to recognize and addresses regulatory issues with limited supervisory input.
• Can provide safety oversight, support and communication during pre-construction, construction and post construction/renovation phases. This will include contractor vetting, auditing, response to construction concerns, through move-in follow-ups.
• Lead and ensure compliance with confined space and powered industrial truck programs
• Can handle our in-house Lockout/Tagout program and coordinate with property management staff to align on site program strategy
• Responsible for safe work conditions, practices, guidelines, safety inspections, including mitigation efforts, and training across support areas and support teams

To be considered for this opportunity you have a passion and background supervising and developing EHS team members previously. You possess a bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience (4+ year if you have a masters). If you are a certified Associate Safety professional, a Certified Safety Professional or a Certified Industrial Hygienist, that would be highly preferred. Ability to develop and conduct EHS training sessions. EMT certification is a plus. Skillful in PC use as well as in specialized safety and industrial hygiene equipment. Niche applications such as integrated workplace management systems, etc. highly preferred. Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems/problems relating to EH&S procedures.
