Job Description

  • Assay Development. Perform experiments to optimize and validate diverse cell-based assays with minimal guidance from supervisor --during custom assay development for clients (CAD) or assays for DiscoverX’ product portfolio
  • Cells. Routine cell culture and isolation of pools and clones of engineered cells
  • Profiling. Test client molecules using Eurofins DiscoverX cell-based assays and platform technologies
  • Characterize cell pools and clones using molecular and cell biology techniques, including functional readouts, flow cytometry, Western blotting, immunofluorescence and qPCR
  • Innovation. Perform proof-of-concept experiments to validate application of new molecular technologies to the Eurofins DiscoverX platform
  • Document. Record experiments and results in company electronic lab notebook (ELN) and databases per company policies
  • Communicate. Prepare and present experimental data at group laboratory meetings
  • Work diligently to meet assay and product development goals set by management team
  • Support R&D colleagues such as ordering and maintaining reagents/supplies/equipment, maintaining accurate notes and records, and effective communication
  • Provides cross-functional support to other departments as required including testing agonists from new vendors and supporting technical support & marketing depts 
  • Deliver quality and timeliness for external and internal customers
  • Conduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner and adheres to site environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements
  • Performs all duties in compliance with all company procedures and regulations
  • Demonstrate and promote the company vision
  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast-paced highly collaborative team environment
  • Experience working in a commercially-focused lab environment is a plus
  • Familiarity with receptor pharmacology and cellular signaling pathways
  • Minimum 1-2 years industry experience
  • Highly motivated, with excellent problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Local Candidates preferred

Basic Minimum Qualifications: 

  • B.S., in biology, cell biology, immunology or related discipline. MS or PhD in biology, cell biology. Immunology or related discipline is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented individual.
  • Experience performing mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays (preferably with both adherent and suspension cells) is required
  • Ability to read assay protocols and datasheets and independently* execute lab experiments and subsequent data analysis (*training and appropriate guidance provided)
  • Ability to assemble and plot data in GraphPad Prism (or similar), MS-Excel and MS-Powerpoint and present data, written and verbally, for supervisor, peers and clients
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
