Prometheus Biosciences is a San Diego-based public biotechnology company pioneering a precision medicine approach to the discovery, development, and commercialization of novel therapeutics and companion diagnostic products for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The company's precision medicine platform combines proprietary bioinformatics discovery methods with one of the world's largest gastrointestinal multiomics database to identify novel therapeutic targets and companion diagnostic approaches that will enable tailored treatments based on molecular patient stratification.

Position Summary

The Executive Director, Human Resources reports to the Chief People Officer and leads key decisions in partnership with the CPO and executives, on processes, systems, people and culture. Drives all HR levers to include generalist work to support our entrepreneurial and early stage start up biotech company in areas such as talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, culture, development, performance management, and employee relations to drive corporate performance. Oversees the design and implementation of processes and policies aligned with corporate strategies to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained. Works with executive level management on a peer basis.

The employee must conduct their work activities in full compliance with defined expectations, including Prometheus Bioscience's internal requirements, GMP and ISO, and all other applicable health authority. Prometheus Bioscience's internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements and objectives.

1. Talent Acquisition: Drives recruitment strategy to ensure headcount plans are staffed with qualified talent to drive corporate initiatives. Assists with the talent acquisition corporate strategy and presence, applicant tracking systems and bridges to our other HR systems

2. HR Business Partner: Partners with functional department leaders to drive HR/people strategies to meet or exceed functional department and corporate goals. Ensures organizational effectiveness is maximized

3. Health and Welfare: Program Management: provides management oversight and administration to our health and welfare programs

4. Compensation Administration: Provides leadership and direction to clients regarding compensation administration and decisions and looks at the organization holistically to ensure equitable and market driven decision are made

5. Performance Management: Provides leadership to clients and company regarding the performance management process, systems, administration, and communications

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree minimum; advanced/graduate degree preferred
  • 15-20 year HR generalist leadership experience
  • Development and implementation systems and processes
  • Strong talent acquisition and assessment experience and execution
  • Health and welfare program management
  • Compensation analysis and program development
  • Best Companies to Work for designation experience
  • Start up environment coupled with larger company experience to implement best in class practices
  • Succession planning and performance management program management experience
