Job Details

We are seeking a Scientist to join our translational immune oncology research group. The successful candidate will work on a research team that performs immune monitoring and exploratory assays on clinical biomarker samples collected from patients treated with a spectrum of Regeneron's immunotherapies. Our team focuses on developing high information-content methods to deeply characterize blood and tumor cells with the goal of identifying features of both productive anti-tumor immune responses and mechanisms of immune evasion. We are particularly interested in understanding the antigenic specificity of tumor T cells and perform extensive reactivity screens using next-generation methods.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in high-parameter flow cytometry and functional T cell assays, preferably using primary human cells and tissues. This role requires someone who is detail oriented, new technology-driven, and highly collaborative. Experience with single cell sequencing methods is preferred. The qualified individual should have a strong background in one or more areas of tumor biology, immunology, and/or immuno-oncology.

As a Scientist, a typical day may include the following:

- Independently design and execute complex (25-40 color) flow cytometry panels to test human blood and tissue samples.
- Process freshly resected human tissues for single cell sequencing workflows
- Perform in vitro primary human blood and tumor cell cultures
- Develop next-generation single cell analysis reagents and assays to maximize learnings from limited human samples
- Analyze complex flow cytometry
- Model key findings from human sample analysis
- Work collaboratively within and across R&D teams to plan human sample experiments and correlate with clinical outcomes
- Keep excellent experimental methods and reports
- Participate in and present at internal and external meetings
- Write patents on new methods and publish research findings

This role may be for you if:

- You are motivated by the idea of studying patient samples to drive forward the next generation of cancer therapies
- You enjoy using new technologies in your research
- You like working on fast-paced projects with a highly motivated team

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD in tumor biology, immunology, or immune oncology and post-doctoral experience with a strong publication record. We are searching for expert knowledge of human T cell biology and tumor immunology. Extensive knowledge of advanced flow cytometry and ability to independently design complex flow cytometry panels. Experience preparing primary cells for single cell sequencing. Proven experience optimizing and developing reagents for flow cytometry functional assays and single cell sequencing. Experience isolating primary human cells and tissues and manipulating them in ex vivo functional assays. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Basic coding knowledge is a distinct advantage. Willingness to train junior scientists and research associates. Possess time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
