We Are Genetic Navigators bringing together passionate, creative and dedicated professionals to join a rapidly-growing startup on our mission to translate novel genetic insights into lifesaving medicines. We are integrating human genetics and functional genomics to decode the mysteries of genetic modifiers, leading us to new medicines we'll develop for a range of severe diseases.

We are seeking talented and highly motivated biologists to establish robust bioanalytical methods to support our advanced programs as they progress into clinical development. As part of a team focused on bioanalytical and translational sciences, the successful candidate will take point on assay development to progress a diverse set of drug programs. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, eager to learn and will have the self-confidence to work across boundaries to help answer challenging scientific questions. In a highly collaborative scientific environment, the ability to pick up new techniques and understand the data will be key.

Your Role in Navigating The Maze:
  • Design and perform bioanalytical assay development and validation to support clinical development.
  • Design and perform exploratory studies to support biomarker discovery efforts.
  • Support the development of assay strategies and engage with members of the team in experimental design, troubleshooting, sample analysis, data interpretation, sample management and report generation.
  • Manage the Maze Research Biobank samples that are stored offsite.
  • Develop repeatable assays for use in translational studies.
  • Perform biological techniques with detail, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Work well independently and in collaboration with colleagues across various functional areas in performing various assays and driving bioanalysis.
  • Present data in group and project team meetings.

Your Navigation Tools:
  • B.S./M.S. in a biological science and at least 3+ years of lab experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or academic setting.
  • Ideal candidates will have a depth of research experience in bioanalytical assay development and a broad range of additional laboratory skills.
  • Experience and expertise with development and optimization in cell-based and protein assays (e.g. ELISA/Immunoassay, AlphaLISA, MSD or similar) is required.
  • Broad laboratory experience and skills in developing and optimizing molecular and cell biology assays (DNA/RNA/Protein extraction, PCR/qPCR/ddPCR, and Flow Cytometry) required.
  • Experience in assay qualification and validation as well as knowledge of FDA and/or EMA Guidelines for Validation of Bioanalytical Assays is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with sample management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of scientific data analysis tools (Prism, JMP, Quantasoft, snapgene, R, and similar) preferred.
  • Experience in a drug discovery environment is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic lab notebooks is preferred.
  • Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills, excellent communication, presentation, collaboration, time-management, and organizational skills and are required.
