Research Associate/Associate Scientist

Element Biosciences is a multi-disciplinary startup focused on innovating genetic analysis tools for the research and clinical markets. The Company's technology will broaden the end user experience through improved data quality and simplified workflows to benefit discoveries and diagnosis in healthcare.

We are seeking a highly motivated team player and fast learner to join our team. Good communication and organization skills are required, as well as the ability to multi-task to deliver results within a timeline. 

Responsibilities:

• Execute experiments to develop and optimize flask and bioreactor bacterial protein expression, perform routine protein purification using research and production scale AKTA systems, and perform protein quality analysis
• Support media preparation, chromatography buffer preparation, lab supplies management, BOM inventory material organization, and shipping/receiving

Requirements:

• A minimum BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry and Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, starting at 0+ years industry experience
• Familiarity with molecular biology techniques, including cloning, and protein analytical techniques such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC SEC are a plus
• Familiarity with protein purification platforms such as AKTA pure, AKTA Avant and AKTA Pilot
• Hands-on experience with various research-scale affinity methods for protein purification
• Experience with E. coli protein cell growth by flask and fermentation, and tagged protein purification preferred
