Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support a global cross-functional Core Program Team (CPT)

  • Contribute to the organization of CPT and associated sub-teams, supporting clear team agreement on scope, roles and responsibilities. Responsible for the development of team charters and support the stage gate process

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of an integrated project plan using appropriate software to track options/scenarios, risk management, opportunities, and milestones; supporting continuous consistency with project strategy.

  • Monitor cross-functional program/project activities for adherence to timelines, deliverables and budget. Escalate issues when appropriate.  Participate in sub team and working group meetings as required

  • Maintain Action/Decision log and follow-up on action items through to resolution

  • Support Program Manager and CPT in identification of risks and development of risk mitigation strategies. Maintain risk log

  • Support the Program Manager during regular or ad hoc CPT meetings including logistics, agenda, presentation materials and minutes.

  • Maintain the associated CPT site

  • Responsible for providing timely, accurate and objective program status reports or meeting minutes as required, using appropriate templates and providing the appropriate level of information for the target audience.

  • Prepare and present slide presentations when required.

  • The incumbent will lead a subteam or workstream for which they will need high levels of strategic thinking, learning agility and autonomy.  They would be responsible for all reporting, risk analysis, action and decisions for that subteam or working group

  • Provide tools and advice for project management efforts of Working Groups or Sub Teams serving the CPT as necessary

  • Provide local support for Head of Portfolio and Program Management, Director Program Management, Program Managers and assigned Sub Teams in meeting organization, such as logistics (room booking, catering), agenda, pre-reads, slides, minutes, etc.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor, Masters or Doctoral degree in life-sciences, medical-related sciences or public health with specialization in Project Management a plus. Experience equivalent to a graduate degree may also be acceptable.

  • 3+ years in the pharmaceutical industry or relevant academic work with experience in leading cross-functional teams.

  • Demonstrated experience as a project manager leading cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environment.

  • Experienced in critical thinking skills and objective interpretation of scientific and commercial data

  • Very strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and manage relationships in an international matrixed environment

  • Strong verbal communication skills (English) including public presentation; strong written communication skills (English) in both narrative and abbreviated formats

  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint essential; familiarity with software used for Project Management tracking tools desirable

  • High learning agility and strategic thinking skills
