Market Development Lead, Plant & Animal Sciences

PacBio® is seeking a talented, high-energy marketer to lead the global market development efforts in the plant and animal sciences (PAS) segment. This position will be responsible for influencing PacBio technology adoption within, engaging with, and monitoring progress of large sequencing initiatives, including biodiversity and conservation consortia. This role will require monitoring market dynamics and internal promotion of opportunities alongside deep engagement directly with KOLs. Role & Responsibilities:
  • Internal champion of PAS opportunities, vision, and needs within PacBio to help inform product development and other investments
  • Be the external face of PacBio for sequencing initiatives
  • Develop position/strategy pieces to address the different agendas of large programs and influence key stakeholders and market players
  • Develop and execute detailed market development plans for key geographic markets
  • Engage with KOLs to influence adoption of PacBio's technology within sequencing initiatives
  • Ensure continual updates on programs and relevant market dynamics are delivered to other internal stakeholders
  • Organize KOL and market influencing events
  • Be the trusted partner within large biodiversity/conservation programs representing PacBio


Job Requirements:
  • 5+ years relevant work experience within genomics or life sciences industry
  • Deep knowledge of or direct experience with biodiversity/conservation sequencing initiatives
  • Experience engaging with plant and animal genomics researchers, ability to engage with thought leaders in educated debate and advise on study design
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Hands on, high energy, and highly responsive
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
