What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will lead and drive change within our GlobalSecurityCenter of Excellencecharged with the safety and security of our company. This position will report to the Vice President, Global Security and Chief Security Officer and will work in partnership with various Amgen business partners from HR, Facilities, IS, LAW, Compliance, and others. We work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on developing programs that scale, and which are impactful. If you enjoy speed, autonomy, and driving change, this role is for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of Global Security professionals with focus on Global Security OrganizationalEffectiveness and Efficiency.

  • Work closely with internal and external intelligence, law enforcement, and national security partners.

  • Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and resourcing plans for major projects(i.e.,Digital Transformation effort,Crisis and Emergency Management, design and oversee conduct ofLocal, National andGlobal Security Training Exercises).

  • Partner effectively with key groups such as IS, Facilities, GSS, Finance, Law, and HR. Maintain regular communicationsto ensure that all concerned parties are well informed.

  • Drive both cost and operational efficiency through the program as it scales, while also continuously innovating.

  • Refine and implement an incident response program aligned with key stakeholders.

  • Lead and grow the Global Security Operations Center.

  • Liaison with local, county, state, federal and international law enforcement for incident responses and best practicesensuringtimely and accurate communications with those affected by incidents.

  • Manage security officers, provisions, and oversees any third-party vendors providing staffing in collaboration with Workplace Site Leadership.

  • Responsible for iterating on Amgens incident management protocols and business continuity planning. Primary owner as needed during a site incident or event.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to expand security protocols and procedures.

  • Educate staff members on physical security policy, standards, and methodologies.

  • Manage cross-functional, global relationships, and projects to ensure policy, process, and systems are aligned to meet the needs of the programs.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 4 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

Or

Masters degree and 8 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

Or

Bachelors degree and 10 years of Corporate, Law Enforcement or Security experience

And

4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

With

  • 15+ years of experience working in thecorporate securityor U.S. government security function

  • Demonstrable developed relationships with law enforcement agencies responsible for sites where Amgen operates, enabling Amgen to remain informed ofcritical developments impacting sites

  • Prior full-time experience with a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency responsible for general inspection, investigation, intelligence, or compliance

  • Strong computer and systems knowledge

  • Experience with contract negotiations
