Project Manager, Search & Evaluation Operations

The Project Manager, Search & Evaluation (S&E) Operations provides operational and project management support for the S&E team, for the Corporate Strategy Office (CSO), and for S&E and CSO-led internal and external partnering events. The position reports to the Senior Director, S&E Initiatives and Operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate support for S&E and CSO-led internal and external events including, but not limited to JP Morgan, BIO International, BIOEurope Spring, BIOEurope Fall, CSO Summit, AACR, ASH, ASCO
  • Specific responsibilities, to be aligned with other CSO stakeholders for each conference, including but not limited to:
    • Coordinate conference participation
    • Coordinate Med-Reg reviews
    • Coordinate with CCG and BSG
    • Coordinate partnering meeting on-site support and logistics
    • Coordinate partnering meeting scheduling and participation
    • Coordinate post-conference debrief and reporting

• Provide diligence team project management support across projects and therapeutic areas
  • Provide project management support for initial technical assessments and due diligence of BD projects, as requested by S&E TA leads based on project complexity and status, including but not limited to:
    • With S&E lead, develop and manage project execution timeline, including updates
    • Assemble due diligence team based on input from the S&E Lead, organize kick-off and check-in meetings, manage INOVA team list, collate diligence inputs from functions, at the request of S&E TA leads generate content for management presentations, and manage project close-outs, including return/destruction of confidential information
    • Establish and manage team Sharepoint / OneDrive
    • Organize meetings and calls with external parties at the direction of the S&E lead
    • Manage access to data rooms and provide troubleshooting with providers as needed
  • Provide project management support for out-licensing projects as requested by the S&E lead/BD&A lead, including but not limited to:
    • Establish and manage data room and provide troubleshooting with providers as needed, establish and manage team Sharepoint
• Support financial planning and tracking for CSO, and specific operational needs for S&E
  • Work with Finance to ensure CSO/CSO function budgets are aligned with budget goals
  • Coordinate budget and planning materials for AbbVie annual planning cycles
  • Work with CSO leadership to ensure travel and conference planning is supported by the proposed budget
  • Manage the S&E Sharepoint and/or other sharing platforms for the S&E team
  • Manage Med-Reg approval of S&E team presentations

Qualifications

Project Manager, S&E Operations Required Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, preferably in a life-sciences related discipline
• Minimum of five (5) years operational / project planning/management experience in the pharmaceutical industry or related field required, with strong preference for candidates with experience in the pharmaceutical R&D and/or business development environment.
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Advanced experience with PowerPoint & presentation platforms preferred.
