SENIOR MANAGER, MEDICAL AFFAIRS STRATEGY AND OPERATIONS

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations is a key member of the Medical Affairs Strategy and Operations team reporting to the Director of Strategy and Operations, Medical Affairs. The individual will be accountable for providing system and operational support to the department to ensure business process compliance, facilitating strategy group team meetings, planning resource support, providing project management support for programs and department initiatives. This individual contributor role is based in South San Francisco, CA.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Veeva Promomats System Support
    • Med Affairs System Coordinator & Administrator for content submissions, review, approval and distribution
    • Set up new accounts, train new hires on navigating the system
    • Support integration with CLM, CRM as well as external parties including call centers and partners
    • Support expansion and upgrade activities, as needed
  • Maintain multiple Medical Affairs Systems - existing and new
    • Maintain relationship with system vendors
    • Manage system updates, QC, Testing
    • Train new hires on systems and processes
    • Support department in implementation of new systems
  • Business process support and optimization
    • Support operational / business processes, governance and committee structures via documentation, training and meeting management
    • Assist with improvement projects to support company growth
  • Project Planning & Metrics
    • Creates and maintains project plans utilizing planning tools
    • Tracks and reports department deliverables (KPIs, metrics, goals)


Qualifications:

  • 6-9 years business operations experience, preferably in the biopharma/Biotech industry
    • 2 years of experience with Veeva systems or similar system is preferred
    • Experience working in a regulated environment and supporting compliance requirements
    • Experience supporting senior level team members
  • A BS or equivalent degree in a STEM related field. MS in a health-related field or MBA is a plus
  • Experience with implementing medical CRM systems
  • Project Management experience and PMP certification are preferred
  • Experience facilitating and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong expertise with navigating systems and working with cloud-based technologies
  • Ability to work well in a virtual environment
    • Zoom, MS Teams, Outlook experience
    • Efficient meeting management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to communicate to external customers. Familiarity with healthcare provider communications is desired
