Unity Biotechnology, Inc (UNITY) is a public development-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing innovative pharmaceutical therapies that dramatically increase human health-span.  We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area and are seeking to hire an experienced and highly motivated senior manager / associate director of project management to work with our discovery and early development teams. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills in multidisciplinary teams settings with experience in discovery and development research including IND enabling and early phase clinical trial start-up activities.

Responsibilities :

  • Work in close collaboration with product / project team leaders, team members and functional / executive leadership to develop and execute product strategies from discovery through clinical development
  • Design, implement, and monitor integrated multidisciplinary project plans that enable the strategy and allow for data driven decision making
  • Develop timelines (Gantt charts) for the tracking of deliverables and task interdependencies
  • Identify and communicate program risks and resource limitations allowing for the development of mitigation and contingency planning
  • Manage team meetings with a focus on agendas, meeting minutes and actionable next steps
  • Champion and facilitate cross functional communication to align priorities for optimal project execution
  • Construct and track project budgets to align with organizational financial planning
  • Responsible for the Portfolio & Project Management processes including project and portfolio reviews, annual project team goal setting & quarterly reviews and commercialization processes
REQUIREMENTS:
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in science with prior experience in discovery or early clinical development organizations and project management
  • Bachelors degree required
  • 7+ years industry experience, including minimum of 2 years with direct project management experience in biotechnology or pharma industries
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams in drug discovery / development projects
  • Familiarity with the overall drug discovery and development process up to initial clinical trial initiation and execution (Phase 1), including CMC, Regulatory, Safety and Clinical Operations
  • Advanced PowerPoint, SmartSheet, MS Project skills
  • Evidence of advanced problem-solving, innovative thinking, strategic planning to deliver creative solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively on multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to form and maintain strong relationships
  • Willingness and dedication to go above and beyond in pursuit of team goals
  • Experience with large and small molecule therapeutics approaches beneficial
