We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our rapidly growing company. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the AP Specialist will help build our Accounts Payable processes from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, with the ability to work well independently as well as with others.


Responsibilities:

  • Process high volume invoices in NetSuite using 3-way matching and electronic record keeping
  • Review purchasing transactions to confirm correct account coding and tax classification
  • Schedule and process weekly payments to meet payment terms and budgeted cash outflows
  • Reconcile discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Review and reconcile credit card statements and transactions
  • Process employee expense reimbursements
  • Manage new vendor set up and credit application process
  • Support monthly close by analyzing the A/P aging and preparing month end accruals
  • Assist in improving the accounts payable process identifying areas of performance improvement
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting
  • Assist with processing Element’s bi-weekly payroll and other projects as needed



Requirements:

  • AA/BA degree with at least 3 years of Accounts Payable work experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered)
  • High level of organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable team player; no task is too big or too small
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • General knowledge of GAAP and an understanding of internal accounting controls
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Paylocity or similar web-based third-party payroll 
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar next-generation SaaS accounting systems is a plus
