SUMMARY OF ROLE:
Inflammatix, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Laboratory Associate. This position reports directly to the Clinical Laboratory Director and will be part of the team responsible for clinical sample processing, clinical study support activities and contributing to microfluidic test system development. You will be involved in developing diagnostic algorithms for host response-based assays that rely on generating mRNA expression data from real patient samples.
The Clinical Laboratory Associate will assist in supply chain management to support sample collection, will be responsible for maintaining an internal sample database, and will perform RNA extraction from patient samples and downstream mRNA expression analysis. This role is laboratory-based and requires exceptional consistency and attention to detail. This is a fantastic opportunity at a growing biotech company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute sample processing activities, including RNA extraction and quantitation, under a QMS in a GLP/ISO 13485 environment
- Perform mRNA expression analysis by qPCR, Isothermal Amp., and using the NanoString nCounter system
- Coordinate multiple activities for study sample management, including purchasing, shipping, processing, tracking and return storage of biospecimens
- Prepare sample collection kits, including reagents, packaging, manifests, logs, labels, etc.
- Track and coordinate clinical sample enrollment, shipping, and receiving
- Maintain database of all clinical samples received by Inflammatix
- Develop and maintain Laboratory Manuals and Sample Management Plans for all active clinical studies
- Act as the liaison between the Clinical Operations and Product Development teams
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S./B.A. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field
- Prior experience working in a CLIA or Clinical Laboratory with molecular testing, preferred
- Experience working with PCR/qPCR techniques and instruments
- Experience working with automated and manual DNA/RNA extraction methods
- Experience working with automated liquid handlers
- Experience working with LIMS and Reagent Inventory system
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, good organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, plan proactively, and accomplish goals using well-defined instructions and procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
