Job Summary:

The Manager-Training, GPM&L is expected to contribute to the drug development process by delivering training to the Global Project Management & Leadership (GPM&L) department and other functional groups within Daiichi Sankyo Research and Development, where applicable. This position will be integral to ensuring consistent practices and smooth operations of Global Project Teams (GPTs) by working with project managers and other functional representatives to develop a training strategy for the delivery of key processes required GPT deliverables (examples include the Global Drug Development Process, Target Product Profile, Probability of Technical and Regulatory Success, Project Management skills, and team effectiveness training and management).

The Manager, GPM&L will bridge and leverage drug development and project management concepts into training materials for project managers, functional area representatives, and GPT members. They will become a subject matter expert in use of the project management tools/deliverables, and support training of Project Managers. They will be expected to develop supportive training content and materials or identify and manage external vendors to ensure content is aligned with the strategy.


Develop training materials/courses/tools/templates (e.g. Decision Point templates, slide decks) and deliver presentations to GPM&L and GPT members.

Develop a good understanding of global drug development process (GDP) and other PM deliverables (e.g. 5Rs, Risk Management, Target Product Profile, Probability of Success, Team Effectiveness, PM Onboarding); deliver live training sessions, as necessary

Partner with project managers and PMO function to design and maintain training deliverables; solicit other training requirements or training gaps from PMs and GPT representatives, where appropriate.

Support PM onboarding activities and assist in conducting team effectiveness training for project managers and project teams, where appropriate

Work with external vendors/consultants, where appropriate.

Partner with global training colleagues, where appropriate.

Catalog existing training materials to organize and maintain information for ease of access by users. (Sharepoint, etc.)

Manage activities in the Learning Management System for GPM&L

Develop training materials for the fundamentals of project scheduling, budgeting, and resourcing.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.


Bachelor's Degree with emphasis preferred in science or engineering required or Master's Degree/MBA/MS preferred

4 or More Years' experience with relevant project management or training experience, including 3 years in pharmaceutical or relevant industry required.

Required: 1 or More Years' extensive experience with MS Office Tools and training material preparation strongly preferred (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, MS Project, MS Teams, Webex, OneNote, SharePoint). Demonstrates strong interpersonal, customer service and stakeholder management skills with ability to build productive and positive relationships and work collaboratively with business partners to achieve objectives.

Preferred: With an advanced degree, a candidate must have at least 3 years of relevant scientific or project management experience, including 1 year in pharmaceutical or relevant industry. Strong presentation skills and/or prior training experience.
