Senior Manager Performance & Execution

What you will do

In this vital role you will be responsible for driving demand planning, capability and capacity planning to define and deliver on the business needs for Amgen's Global Commercial Organizations Learning & Performance services. The successful candidate should be an excellent business partner and will also be accountable for budget needs and allocation to enable the Learning & Performance services and demand.

Remote worker will be considered.

  • Lead the operational planning to enable GCO L&P to deliver on its Learning strategy, services, and business stakeholder needs

  • Support Strategy & Performance Lead in activating the strategic vision across each Learning team and in driving continuous improvement identification to optimize / modernize the COEs ways of working

  • Coordinate with Learning Business Partners to collect business goals / plans, and to document initial Regional/BU L&P demand plans, etc.

  • Coordinate with GLS as a core enabling partner to understand capacity / capabilities in relation to global L&P demand plan

  • Lead consolidation of regional/BU demand plans annually into an overarching plan and manage prioritization against strategic priorities and resources

  • Coordinate and oversee quarterly review and reprioritization of demand plan with LBPs and governance committee, and any ad hoc re-plan, based on changing business needs and priorities

  • Coordinate and oversee capability (e.g., gaps and build or buy decisions), capacity (e.g., gaps and build or buy decisions), and resource planning needed to deliver on the L&P demand plan (i.e., resource plans, growth areas, etc.)

  • Oversee capability and capacity building initiatives to close gaps and better respond to business needs

  • Manage the L&P budget to execute against the demand plan and all enabling services

  • Provide strategic guidance to the Learning Enablement team to assess and thoughtfully drive learning platform rollouts (e.g. iCoach, Degreed) in alignment with L&P objectives and demand planning

  • Lead coordination of governance operations, including Tier 2 Learning Council meetings, decisions, engagement, and communication, and Tier 3 regular operations meetings to monitor service delivery, risks, and changing needs

  • Partner with the Metrics Manager to support L&P performance reporting (effectiveness, efficiency, business alignment, learner experience, etc.)

  • Support launch planning for COE opportunities

  • Support COE onboarding, including owning curriculum and relevant material that is made available to COE leads

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of commercial operations and/or business experience

OR

Masters degree and 4 years of commercial operations and/or business experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 6 years ofcommercial operations and/or business experience

OR

Associates degree and 10 years of commercial operations and/or business experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years ofcommercial operations and/or business experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

  • Strong advocacy and communication skills

  • Strategic thinking, analytical and project management skills

  • Goal oriented and results driven

  • Ability to lead and manage projects from concept to completion

  • Quick learner, proactive, takes initiative

  • Strong interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, active listening, and relationship management skills

  • Interface effectively with all levels, including senior management

  • Ability to influence others while fostering a value-based environment of high performance and fairness

  • Ability to understand, plan, and navigate in a matrix and, at times, ambiguous environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and effectively present information

  • Demonstrates creativity and foresight in anticipating and solving complex project issues

  • Awareness and ability to navigate and conform to Commercialization and Corporate Governance processes
