Regeneron's PMPD Analytics Group is looking for a Process Development Associate II. The candidate should be well-versed in the latest automation technologies, have hands on experience programming liquid handlers, and be willing to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is experienced in programming liquid handlers such as Hamilton and Tecan. He/she will execute experiments under limited supervision, following written or oral instructions and have a mastery of general laboratory techniques (e.g. pipetting). He/she will run platform analytical assays on the liquid handlers for routine sample characterization. This individual will be involved in planning, programming and day-to-day maintenance of a variety of automated systems as well as contribution to custom designs of high-throughput automation.

A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:
  • Develop, implement, and troubleshoot workflows on automated systems from, but not limited to, Hamilton Robotics and Tecan
  • Contribute innovative solutions to increase efficiency and decrease costs while continuing to improve sample throughput and data quality.
  • Stay up-to-date on new technologies and evaluate how adopting new equipment will impact workflows.
  • Run platform analytical assays on the liquid handlers for routine sample characterization
  • Provide hands-on support to other liquid handler users on the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of automation system and its peripherals
  • May participate in programming projects in support of automating data analysis
  • Maintain GLP compliance for all laboratory work and documentation related to automated assay verifications in accordance with regulations and company SOPs. Assist in maintaining cleanliness, safety requirements and GLP compliance in the laboratory.
  • Self-starter, highly organized and problem solver with technical, detail-oriented mindset. Strong analytical and written/oral communication skills. Team-oriented and experienced in working in a diverse and multicultural environment.

This Role Might Be For You If:

Has a foundation of basic scientific/engineering knowledge obtained through academic training and/or experience.
B.S or M.S. in Science/Engineering or related field with 2+ years of automation experience.
Direct experience programming Hamilton STARs (or closely related) using Venus software is required; experience with Hamilton's Vantage and programming within Instinct is a plus but not required.
Direct experience programming Tecan liquid handlers (or closely related) using EVOware software is preferred.
Experience with operating/programming liquid handlers is required
Experience with object-oriented programming, e.g. Visual Basic (preferred)
Experience with functional or object-oriented programming (i.e. Python, R, Java, Visual Basic) is a plus.
Must have strong communication and organizational skills and easily adapt to a rapidly changing fast-paced environment

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to lab equipment maintenance and safety to help create a safe, effective and efficient working environment.
  • Anticipates and recognizes potential problems with laboratory supplies / equipment and takes action to prevent and solve problems.
  • Keep up with SOP training and/or compliance responsibilities.
  • Assist with departmental product inventory and distribution within Regeneron and to collaborators
