Staff Relations SeniorManager - Investigations
What you will do
Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you willreport to the Staff Relations Investigations Lead and will be based in Amgens Thousand Oaks Campus, supporting our colleagues throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.We are open to U.S. Remote Work.
Staff Relations is a specialized Human Resources function in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Staff Relations investigators investigate potential violations of Amgens Human Resources policies.
Independently conduct internal HR investigations (including executive-level HR investigations), determine findings, and prepare all required documentation
Identify relevant investigation issues, potential evidence, and investigative actions
Plan, schedule and conduct effective interviews of complainants, subjects, and witnesses
Gather and review relevant evidence and records
Analyze information collected from witnesses and evidence and reach timely and well-reasoned conclusions
Effectively assess witness credibility
Create professional, well-drafted investigation records, including investigation plans and summaries
Report investigation findings to HR colleagues, legal partners, and business leaders in a clear, concise manner
Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to all issues, and conduct investigations in an unbiased manner
CoordinateandauditHR investigations metrics and assist HR Investigation Lead in analyzing investigation trends
Provide employee relations and investigation support for employees in the HR function
Develop and recommend solutions tostaffrelations issues for the HR function, including performance, misconduct,disputes, and workplace accommodations; assess risk andadvanceissues whenvital
Coach and mentor colleagues who perform HR investigations
What we expect of you
Doctorate degree and 2 years ofInvestigationsexperience
Masters degree and 4 years ofInvestigationsexperience
Bachelors degree and 6 years ofInvestigationsexperience
Associatesdegree and 10 years ofInvestigationsexperience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years ofInvestigationsexperience

Previous experience conducting HR investigations
Demonstrated ability to learn and fairly apply company policy, internal HR procedures, investigation procedures, and regulatory guidelines within scope of duties
Ability to maintain and report on confidential information in an appropriate manner
In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws governing employment and labor (Equal Employment Opportunity, Americans with Disabilities Act, National Labor Relations, etc.)
Awareness of emerging HR compliance issues, internally and externally, and the implications to the company
Prior experiencecollaboratingwith government enforcement agencies (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Fair Employment Agencies, Department of Labor, etc.)
Ability to conduct research and present findings in an organized manner
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and establish and maintain working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups
Proven ability tomaneuverconflicting priorities andprioritizetime
Coordinateasubstantialworkload and complete tasks in a timely manner, balancing high quality and efficiency
Excellent communication: written/oral/listening
Demonstratableability to manage difficult conversations and interactions
Demonstrated customer service/client orientation
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; E-mail (Outlook) and Internet
