BioTheryX is a privately held, clinical-stage biotech that is committed to transforming the treatment of cancer and immune disorders through the development of novel therapies that modulate disease-causing proteins.

Our principal technology platform centers on targeted protein degradation with our PHM® ‘molecular glues’, which enable the design of small molecules to regulate protein equilibrium. Molecular glues can be used to either create a complex of proteins that is more stable by attaching them, giving them better functionality by gluing a diseased protein to a “regulator” protein. This technology utilizes the body’s own protein disposal system to selectively degrade and remove disease-causing proteins. We believe our technology has the potential to address a broad range of disease targets, including those that have to date been considered undruggable.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the discovery of novel targeted protein degradation therapeutics. The scientist will support early drug discovery projects with a focus on developing experimental approaches to elucidate drug mechanisms of action, including target validation. The successful candidate must have in-depth knowledge of molecular and cellular oncology, immune-oncology, and related areas.

Education, Experience and Key Technical Skills:

  • Ph.D. with 1-3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in biology or life sciences (cancer biology, immunology, pathology, molecular biology, cell biology) and related areas

  • Strong experience in a wide array of molecular and cell biology assays and in assay development and optimization, high-throughput cellular assays, western blots, immunoprecipitation, qPCR, ELISA, multicolor flow cytometry, Fluorescent microscopy,

  • Experience with target identification/validation using small molecule inhibitors, proteomics, and genetic manipulation (shRNA, CRISPR)

  • Establish stable/drug-resistant cell lines, viral vector design and transduction techniques (retroviral, lentiviral)

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Independently design, execute and analyze experiments with a variety of biochemical, cellular, genetic, and pharmacological techniques to advance multiple candidates from discovery research to clinical development

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present results at project team meetings and conferences

  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
