Job Details

As a member of the Contracts Group in the Regeneron Law Department's Transactions Law Group, this attorney will draft, review and negotiate a wide array of contracts for Regeneron's Clinical Experimental Sciences and Strategic Sourcing & Procurement groups, and will provide clients with related advice and counsel. This role will primarily be responsible for Clinical Research Collaboration Agreements, Sponsored Research Agreements and Material Transfer Agreements for our Clinical Experimental Sciences group and, to a lesser degree, MSA's / SOW's, and agreements around Laboratory Services, Vendors, and Licenses in support of our Strategic Sourcing Team and their Global Development Clients. The role requires a deep understanding of life sciences / general business transactions and related legal issues, as well as outstanding contract drafting and resolution skills.

As a Director, Corporate Counsel a typical day may include:
  • Drafting, resolving and bringing to execution research and vendor agreements that are critical to our Global Clinical Development operations.
  • Providing legal support for a wide variety of research collaborations, , material transfers, MSA's, laboratory services and confidentiality agreements.
  • Advising individuals on the company's contracts policies and practices and supporting the continuous improvement of the department's contract management system, including the development of new or improved templates and tools in the system to enhance the efficiency of the contracting process.
  • Providing training to individuals & areas of the organization on processes and policies
  • Working collaboratively with other Law Department groups, including the Privacy Group and the Compliance Group, and Strategic Sourcing and Procurement.

  • Collaborate and advise key partners, senior leaders, etc. on contracts, group policies and procedures
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A solid understanding of contracts and related law; Experience working in/with biotech/pharmaceutical industry; Experience with contracts related to clinical development of biologics and/or pharmaceuticals; Experience with contracts involving intellectual property; JD with excellent law school credentials; Licensed to practice law in New York or be eligible for licensure as a registered in-house counsel is helpful; At least 10 - 15 years of legal experience at a law firm and/or in-house, including biotech/pharmaceutical and/or health care experience.
