We are seeking candidates for an Associate Scientist position in the Skeletal Diseases Therapeutic Focus Area to model genetic variants associated with skeletal homeostasis, iron homeostasis, and rare diseases of the bone and cartilage. Candidates should be versed in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology techniques. Although the focus of the work will be primarily in vitro, familiarity with animal models (animal handling, phenotyping) are desirable.

As an Associate Scientist in Skeletal Diseases, a typical day may include the following:
• Cloning, expression and testing of gene expression, protein production and functional analysis in cell-based assays
• Evaluating genetic variants associated with human phenotypes and deciding how to approach the characterization of these variants in vitro and potentially in vivo.
• Generate, collect and present the scientific questions, approach and experimental results from their projects
• Champion their projects independently while still working as part of a team to explore research questions and carryout experiments to answer them
• The ability to work within interdisciplinary teams in both the discovery and development areas is a necessary attribute for this position.

This role may be for you if:

• You are inquisitive and proactive about understanding both the underlying biology and signaling pathways that are new or unfamiliar
• You are able to communicate ideas and data within the team at Regeneron
• You enjoy working in a dynamic team exited to review and discuss scientific data

To be considered for this role, you must have a PhD and 0-3 years of experience. We are seeking proven experience with molecular biology techniques, such as those required for the expression of recombinant proteins and the generation of cell lines. Experience with Bioassay development such as Cell culture, cell line production and data generation/analysis is required. Flow cytometry, cloning, cell culture is a plus, and a desire to understand the molecular details governing signaling is a must. Experience with Biochemistry Techniques, expression, analysis and validating the bioactivity of recombinant proteins. Interpreting that data planning/executing the next steps is a must.
