Job Description:

Purpose of the position

The Global Business Process Owner (GBPO) is accountable for an end-to-end process across all organizations within Ipsen. The GBPO will own their process and make decisions to optimize the process while ensuring Ipsen business needs are met.

This role is a key position to lead the transformation of Ipsen. The GBPO will lead a functional team across organization of no less than 10 people, assume decision making responsibility for a specific business process area, provide guiding principles and strategy for the owned process area and own the business process definition and design in Ipsen's organization acting as escalation point for major process disputes and process variances.

Affecting change requires a leader who can motivate others, negotiate appropriately, and coordinate efforts across multiple departments.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Lead / Monitor and manage all improvement initiatives in relation with Business Processes
  • Propose improvements/assess proposal from process experts, validate and prioritize improvement initiatives. Strive for a high level of standardization and align process toward Life Science standard
  • Establish a Committee (business & IT) to define priorities
  • Align with IT on roadmap strategy to implement enhancements


Ensure cross functional process management
  • Align Ipsen stakeholders around business objectives
  • Lead business community and Key Users networks on Business Process Management: spread and share best practices; feedback and follow up improvement initiatives implementation, share process measurements
  • Ensure cross functional process management by working in close collaboration with other Business Process Owners to manage integration topics/interfaces


Maintain high standard & support Audit
  • Keep Business Process mapping and business rules current and visible across the organization
  • Maintain and improve training documentation on processes
  • Support sites during internal/external audits and inspections


Process monitoring and performance improvements
  • Establish, build, implement an end-to-end global process improvement methodology using Lean or other concepts or frameworks
  • Design, implement and monitor process performance goals and measures, identify improvement opportunities
  • Execute prioritized improvements. Partner and coordinate with other process owners and teams to ensure process alignment


Lead Workstream during ERP deployment
  • Validate the design of the solution
  • Be the key point of contact in business for Integrator to address questions around business requirements
  • Drive Key Design Decisions review and approval which impact the business process
  • Validate Functional Specifications
  • Review change impact and approve communication and training for key users
  • Ensure post go-live that value is achieved and sustained in Ipsen's organization


Experience / Qualifications

Education :
  • Preferred: Master's degree University/Pharma or MBA
  • Languages: Fluent in English, French would be a plus
  • Process Improvement Training (e.g.; Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, etc.) would be a plus
  • Black Belt would be a plus


Experience (Proficiency):
  • At least 10 to 15 years working experience in multinational Life Science companies with relevant experience in R&D (product creation, master data, portfolio management, planning, financial reporting, etc.)
  • Program management with > 10 headcounts
  • Experience in consulting firm would be a plus
  • Proficiency with Asset Centric Models
  • Familiarity with ERP concepts, processes, systems and tools


Communication / Personality (Level / Nature):
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to build / develop network across the organization
  • Strong management by influence
  • Ability to federate & arbitrate
  • Ability to drive change and manage stakeholders
  • Strong skills in communication, negotiation, coordination and time management
  • Very good understanding of Ipsen business process for a macro end-to-end process
