The Sr. Manager, BHR is a strategic partner who directs the HR function for the US manufacturing plant in Dublin, California. This position plans, organizes and directs the Human Resource function to attract, retain and develop quality people, in a safe and secure environment that ensures equity, equality, diversity and inclusion in support of overall business objectives. Responsible for ensuring that administration of policies and practices supports overall strategic company objectives. This position also supports the site General Manager with strategic HR initiatives and is a member of the Site Leadership Team.
This position will be responsible for:
Provide leadership, direction & expertise for the full scope of HR functions at the Dublin, California site.
Partner with the senior management team to ensure execution of HR initiatives are aligned with business priorities.
Ensure a robust pipeline of talent through rigorous performance management, e.g. Talent Management Review, coaching & development of employees, as well as candid and timely performance feedback.
Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to lead critical position searches that address organizational gaps and future workforce planning.
Partner with Employee Relations to effectively address employee relations activities, resolve conflicts, and implement policy.
Provide leadership and support to design and implement organization as well as process change efforts across the business.
Serve as coach and trusted advisor to the senior leadership team as well as the client groups leaders.
Drive execution through the translation of strategy into key deliverables ensuring alignment around communication, people, processes, and systems to ensure effective implementation and delivery of key imperatives.
Incumbent has full authority to make decisions and/or take action that is required to carry out job duties. Internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, cGMP procedures, general business policies, requirements and objectives. The incumbent must be willing to take temporary assignments as required.
Regulated Responsibilities (including cGMP and EHS)
Incumbent is expected to be fully compliant with all criteria established by governmental agencies, Ministry of Health, and legislative requirements including, but not limited to: the FDA, European Community (EC), ISO 13485 - Medical Devices, European Economic Community Medical Device Directive (MDD), Canadian Medical Device Regulations (CMDR), OSHA, Sarbanes-Oxley, EPA, DOT, EEOC, and ADA.
Incumbent will work to ensure that the company is in compliance with all environmental, health and safety requirements and assure our business practices enhance the welfare of our customers, employees and the community in which we operate.
Education and Experience:
Minimum requirements for this position are:
Four year degree required - Masters degree or higher in business, human resources, industrial psychology, or organizational development is preferred.
4 years of HR management experience – manufacturing environment preferred
3 years experience in a regulated environment preferred
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Professional HR/Sr. Professional HR Certification Preferred
Demonstrated reasoning abilities and sound judgment
Strong communicator verbally and in writing; strong presentation skills
Resourceful and well organized
Inclusive management style – advocate of working as a team player, good player-coach, not afraid to roll up sleeves
Results-oriented management of a broad range of HR issues
Business planning and project management skills
Experience partnering with HR services to address the needs of differing business units while considering alignment with company objectives
Professional knowledge of California employment law
Proven ability to drive organizational change
Experience and proficiency in functional components of human resources including: employee engagement, talent development, organization design, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and recruitment.
