Fate Therapeutics' legal group is seeking a career oriented attorney with significant life sciences experience to provide transactional support for the Company's operations, with a particular focus on implementing agreements to support operations and product
development. The successful candidate will interact with personnel at all levels of the Company as well as with external parties to prepare, review, and negotiate a range of complex contracts. Effectiveness in this position will require extensive knowledge of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and the ability to identify business and legal risks and offer creative solutions. The successful candidate also must have the ability to work independently with minimal instruction under the supervision of the General Counsel, and must be able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and maintain a sense of urgency. This is a full-time position reporting to the General Counsel, and is based on site at the Corporate headquarters in San Diego (temporarily working remotely).

Responsibilities:
• Review, draft, redline, negotiate, and approve for execution a range of contracts and
other documents relating to the conduct of clinical research, manufacturing, and product development, including NDAs, SRAs, master service agreements, supply agreements, clinical trial agreements, manufacturing and quality agreements, technology in-licenses and out-licenses, and other agreements of varying complexity, as needed
• Negotiate directly with external parties, including commercial suppliers, service providers and vendors, and research institutions, interfacing with internal counsel and stakeholders
• Develop new and update existing contract documents and templates
• Assist internal clients with contract negotiation, clinical development documentation and SOWs, as appropriate
• Assist with other legal matters as requested

Qualifications
• J.D. with a minimum of 3 years of experience preparing and negotiating a variety of agreements for life sciences; California State Bar membership preferred.
• Significant experience with life science agreements required, and a working knowledge of intellectual property law is strongly preferred.
• Experience with clinical trial agreements is preferred, including CTAs and ICFs
• Excellent writing, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
