JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Manufacturing Associate role is key to the site as we continue in our mission to develop and manufacture the company's pipeline of biotech products. The candidate will be involved in introducing new products to this facility, designing new unit operations to support manufacturing together with the provision of operational support for ongoing manufacturing.

 

QUALIFICATIONS :
Biology / Biochemistry or Molecular & Cellular Biology (2-3yrs), degree qualified - Biochemical/Chemical Engineering with relevant knowledge of upstream and downstream biopharmaceutical unit operations, manufacturing processes, bioreactor design and control, Aseptic Filling , Filtration, Material handling and weighing out chemicals for production etc. The individual must be detail oriented with knowledge of FDA requirements and guidelines, cGMP and GLP guidelines; able to follow protocols and efficient in completing tasks on time. The individual must have knowledge of computers and software programs associated with bio-processing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide day-to-day bioprocess manufacturing  support to upstream / downstream manufacturing operations. Support and participate in commissioning and start-up activities of biotech unit operations and equipment. Initiate and implement facility and equipment upgrades to improve plant productivity and throughput. Facilitate the introduction of new products with associated new unit operations and equipment and ensure the bio-processing at the site stays current with emerging processing and equipment innovations. Develop and predict processing strategies and throughputs for the various products for the site biotech business through the use of modeling tools.

 

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Technically sound and understanding in the field of Biochemical/Chemical Engineering. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work on own initiative and as part process team consisting of a diverse group of management, production/science and engineering professionals. Creativity to identify improvement opportunities and the tenacity/initiative to see them implemented. Guidance/mentoring of others through processes. Flexibility to meet business needs. Good work ethics.
