  • Provides strategic leadership of planning and operations for AA US Marketing organization driving realization of LRP and sales targets through development of future fit capabilities, brand excellence, and operational excellence.
  • Partners with AA US Marketing Leadership Team (ALT) to develop and drive strategic vision of US Marketing organization and leads ALT planning and operations to realize vision including strategic priorities/initiatives, capabilities, innovation, communications, people/culture, and performance metrics.
  • Determines and leads development of future capabilities (Future Fit) that are critical to best position AA for future market differentiation and leadership across the portfolio.    
  • Leads development and implementation of a brand excellence framework to establish a common language for brand strategies and a consistent brand planning process across brand teams (global, US, affiliate) from pipeline to on market.
  • Seeks to continuously raise the bar for US Marketing team and deliverables driving both timeline and resources efficiency, brand excellence standards, and team effectiveness.
  • Establishes appropriate frameworks and oversight for input into strategy, prioritization, reviews, and decision making to drive brand strategies that maximize value.
  • Leads key yearly planning activities across US Marketing including LRP, plan, and portfolio.
  • Develops and implements launch readiness framework and process to drive brand pre-launch preparedness through consistent and transparent reporting of readiness including issues/risks and streamlined leadership input.
  • Proactively determines opportunities to apply the practice of innovation to enhance brand and operational performance.  Establishes innovation champions across US Marketing organization to infuse practice of innovation in local business units for solving challenges and driving opportunities.
  • Directly leads US Marketing Strategic Operations team responsible for recruitment of right talent, development of talent, and building a diverse, inclusive, and high performing team.
  • Brings a “can-do” attitude while being able to respectively challenge partners and be assertive when necessary around project timelines, finances, scope; stretches teams to deliver more while serving as a gatekeeper for priority initiatives, ensuring leadership awareness and input, issue/conflict resolution, and delivery against plan and expectations.
  • Proactively responds to needs of other functions/stakeholders and influences appropriately to ensure successful delivery of initiatives and overall US Marketing strategy.  Successful delivery involves partnership and alignment with key stakeholders across US Commercial, International Commercial, R&D, and legacy AbbVie. 
  • Thrives in ambiguity and able to look at processes and teams form an overarching viewpoint to see what can be optimized and drive necessary optimization initiatives.  Drives continuous improvement across US Marketing organization practices, processes, and teams to achieve world class execution while driving transformational change to keep AA ahead of the competition.
  • Seamlessly manages multiple and competing resources and program/brand priorities with focus on driving vision and strategic imperatives for AA and US Marketing organization

  • A minimum of 15 years of bio-pharmaceutical or aesthetics industry experience in a US/global organization with significant leadership expertise in commercial organizations focused on strategy, capability development and operations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher and previous experience in Commercial and/or Strategic Leadership roles
  • Broad knowledge and track record of successfully managing brand excellence and capability building across lifecycle of product development.
  • Demonstrated high level of competency in the AbbVie / AA leadership behaviors.
  • Big picture and strategic thinker – can formulate a vision of future state and lead the organization to build tactical plans to achieve this. Experience implementing large-scale change and process improvements in Commercial organizations.
  • Excellent collaborator – easily builds relationships and gains cross functional alignment. Experience with cross-functional leadership and a proven ability to influence and get things done within the intricacies of a highly matrixed organization.
  • Excellent business and financial aptitude, analytical and uses data to drive the business and continuous improvements.
  • Experience leading teams; managing and developing talent; leader of leaders who can engage, inspire and align diverse teams of seasoned professionals
